Virtual Festival, Electric Blockaloo, Takes Over Minecraft For The Masses

Today, Electric Blockaloo revealed the second phase of its lineup as it gears up to be the biggest digital music festival in history, June 25-28, 2020. As festival-goers grapple with a growing virtual festival landscape, Electric Blockaloo stands out with a colossal international lineup consisting of the biggest names in electronic music and beyond.

Newly announced artists include Steve Aoki with DIM MAK’s Dojo, rising London star and BBC Radio1 host Sherelle, and Detroit household names such as Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson and Seth Troxler. House music will be represented by heavyweights such as Felix da Housecat, Todd Terry, DJ Sneak, Higher Ground headliner MK, Maya Jane Coles, Luciano and Skream,  and EDM sets from bellwethers Galantis, Two Friends, Louis the Child, and Paris Hilton.

These join some of the biggest names previously announced including Jauz, Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex, KSHMR, TOKiMONSTA, A-Trak, Nicole Moudaber, ZHU, Nora en Pure, Claude VonStroke, Claptone, Soul Clap, Lane 8 and over eight hundred more.

Upon entering the festival, attendees or “Loozers”, are given free range of the grounds, with the ability to jump from stage to stage at their own pace. Over 65 stages have been carefully curated and envisioned directly by the artists and labels themselves. From Red Blocks, a take on the famed Colorado amphitheater, to Thunder Mifflin, the coolest office in Scranton, PA, there will be plenty of familiar locations for Loozers to explore. Artists have had full creative control of their stage designs, from Sacha Robotti’s SlothAcid stage, Steve Aoki’s blood sport Dim Mak Dojo, KSHMR’s Dharma Temple, Claptone’s Masquerade Stage, Maceo Plex’s Blade Runner inspired Ellum, a Higher Ground Space Station and Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird Campout and Bass Lodge, which features nostalgic activities and games.

To further immerse attendees in the digital music festival experience, Electric Blockaloo attendees will also be brought together via Discord, an online chat platform where Loozers can communicate and meet up with friends and new avatars they meet in the game.

Electric Blockaloo will be available on both versions of Minecraft, on mobile and desktop. For those not familiar with the game, a training camp will be made available to ticket holders as the festival nears. The training will show users how to navigate, utilize in-game items and even swim so attendees can absorb the whole experience with ease.
