Loco Dice Returns with “Hold Up (You Feel That),” His First Release Since Purple Jam

Loco Dice has returned with “Hold Up (You Feel That),” his first new release since his acclaimed 2025 album Purple Jam, marking his latest chapter with Universal Music. The new single delivers the unmistakable energy that has made the internationally renowned DJ and producer one of electronic music’s most respected names for more than two decades.

Driven by tightly programmed percussion and compelling spoken-word vocals from Alaina Arnez, “Hold Up (You Feel That)” is designed with the dancefloor in mind. Rather than relying on dramatic melodic drops, the track builds its momentum through layered rhythms, creating a hypnotic groove that thrives in peak-time club sets. Fast-paced, immersive and rhythmically focused, the single reflects Loco Dice’s signature ability to balance underground authenticity with broad festival appeal.

The release follows Purple Jam, an album that further cemented Loco Dice’s reputation as an artist unafraid to blend influences across genres and cultures. With “Hold Up (You Feel That),” he once again showcases the distinctive musical identity that has kept him at the forefront of electronic music for over twenty years.

Born and raised in Germany in a multicultural family with Tunisian heritage, Loco Dice began his career in hip-hop before becoming one of electronic music’s defining artists. During the early 1990s, he built his reputation as both a DJ and rapper, touring internationally and performing alongside artists including Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube. Those early experiences shaped the rhythmic foundation that continues to define his productions today.

His transition into electronic music began in the early 2000s with the breakthrough release “Phat Dope Shit.” Since then, Loco Dice has built an acclaimed catalogue that includes 7 Dunham Place, Underground Sound Suicide, Love Letters and Purple Jam. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists spanning multiple genres, including Skrillex, Fireboy DML, Carl Cox, Gué and Haftbefehl, while releasing music through influential labels such as Desolat, Ovum, Minus and Cocoon.

Beyond the studio, Loco Dice has become one of the world’s most sought-after DJs, performing everywhere from intimate underground clubs to globally recognised festivals including Coachella, Time Warp and Sunwaves. His long-standing Ibiza residencies at Circoloco (DC-10), Amnesia Terrace and Pacha Ibiza have further established his reputation as a leading figure in international club culture.

In 2007, he founded the influential Desolat label, helping introduce music from artists including Dubfire, Moritz von Oswald, Martin Buttrich, DJ Sneak and Yaya. He later expanded his creative vision through the En Couleur and SB Recordings imprints.

Outside music, Loco Dice has explored projects across fashion and entertainment, contributing to the PlayStation 2 game Decks & FX, appearing on MTV’s Battle of the DJs, creating runway soundtracks for Marcelo Burlon during Milan Men’s Fashion Week, and collaborating with brands including Daily Paper and New Era. He also launched his own fashion label, Seran Bendecidos, reflecting his long-standing passion for creativity beyond music.

With “Hold Up (You Feel That)” now available and an extensive international touring schedule underway, Loco Dice continues to demonstrate why he remains one of the most influential and enduring figures in global electronic music.
