Rusko Returns with First Solo Single in Two Years, “Wassup,” on Monstercat

Dubstep pioneer Rusko is back, making waves with his highly anticipated single “Wassup” via Monstercat Uncaged. This energetic track marks Rusko’s first solo release in over two years and serves as the lead single from his upcoming debut Monstercat EP, set to drop next year.

Though absent from the release radar, Rusko has remained a driving force in the bass music scene. Over the past two years, he has ignited global stages with his electrifying performances, dynamic stage presence, and signature dance moves. From EDC Las Vegas and Mexico to Rampage, Wakaan Music Festival, and Beyond Wonderland, he’s also graced iconic venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Hollywood Palladium, and Brooklyn Mirage.

A cornerstone of the U.K. dubstep movement, Rusko rose to prominence with groundbreaking tracks like “Cockney Thug”, a seminal anthem that cemented his role as a bass music legend. His debut album, O.M.G.! (2010), showcased career-defining hits such as “Woo Boost” and “Hold On”. Over the years, Rusko has expanded his artistry by producing for stars like M.I.A. and remixing tracks for Lady Gaga, Kid Sister, and Sub Focus.

With “Wassup”, Rusko delivers his unmistakable bass-heavy sound, blending his iconic wonky style with a fresh drum-and-bass edge. The track teases an exciting direction for his upcoming EP, promising more innovation and energy.

Rusko shared insight into the creation of “Wassup”:
“I started working on this track last year while touring Australia. It was a tricky puzzle to crack, always stuck in my head. Then, after dropping it into my DJ sets, everything clicked. Within a couple of nights, the tune was finished!”

In addition to his solo ventures, Rusko is reuniting with fellow bass icon Caspa for epic B2B performances. Following their first joint set in eight years at Lost Lands, the duo is gearing up for major shows at UKF15’s Drumsheds event in London on December 13th and Denver’s Mission Ballroom on January 4th. Fans can expect a nostalgic dose of OG dubstep magic.

Stay tuned for more solo announcements as Rusko continues to push the boundaries of bass music and reassert his legendary status in the scene.
