Contemporary duo Odesza has made waves in the industry with the announcement of their latest tour, The Last Goodbye. This is accompanying the promised drop of their new album, to be released on July 22, 2022. As stated by Odesza themselves, this tour is a long time coming. We can expect to see this pair spanning the U.S over the course of this year, with several stops along the West Coast and even Sacramento. Mark your calendars for September 29 to catch them in action at Cal Expo.
Over the years, Odesza has produced a number of musical masterpieces that showcase their individualistic outlook on electronic music. Bordering on the line of indie, their signature sound embodies atmospheric and emotional depth, making it popular among those who appreciate radical EDM. They rose to the surface in 2012 with the release of their debut album, Summer’s Gone. You may know Odesza from their most iconic hit, Say My Name ft. Zyra, which has a whopping 169 million streams on Spotify. Some other universal bangers of theirs include A Moment Apart and Better Now ft. MARO.
Odesza has surfaced at some big shot festivals, such as Coachella in 2018 where they made history with a revolutionary performance complete with drone coverage. Fans who go out to see Odesza live are moved by the artistry and passion this duo packs into each of their shows. Their meteoric rise in popularity over the years brought them to A Moment Apart Tour in 2018, which spanned over the course of two years and took this pair all across the U.S, UK, and Australia. Throughout the course of the pandemic, they took some time to recalibrate and release music here and there, building up anticipation for their next revolutionary excursion. In March 2022, Odesza shared on Twitter, “Over the past few years we’ve been able to reflect on who we are, what it means to do what we do, and in the end, who we are doing this for.”
Announcement of The Last Goodbye Tour was unexpected but greatly applauded. Joining them on all tour dates is special guest Sylvan Esso, another indie electronic duo. Select dates will bring guest artists such as San Holo, Elderbook, Ben Böhmer, ford, Gilligan Moss and NASAYA. Odesza is just as stoked for the future as we are. “We can’t wait to share this full-length project with you, along with our new show,” the duo said in a statement. “It’s been a long time coming. From us to you, The Last Goodbye: The Tour.”
