After months of teasing a bold new sonic direction through a string of standout singles, Moody Good is officially set to release his highly anticipated new EP, SPEEEDBUMP 01, arriving May 20 via Deadbeats. The seven-track project marks the full arrival of the SPEEEDBUMP era, a carefully constructed creative world first introduced through “Grinding” and later expanded with “Humid” and “Mouth Piece.”
Known for constantly reshaping the boundaries of bass music, Moody Good takes his sound into even more unpredictable territory on SPEEEDBUMP 01. Across the EP, distorted low-end pressure collides with baile funk-inspired grooves, warped vocal cuts, industrial textures, and sharp rhythmic switches. The result is a project that feels aggressive yet playful, technical yet deeply immersive, capturing the chaos and precision that have defined Moody Good’s production style for years.
Rather than functioning as a traditional collection of tracks, SPEEEDBUMP 01 has been built as a complete audio-visual experience. Each release within the rollout has added another layer to the larger SPEEEDBUMP universe, combining detailed sound design with striking visual identity and cinematic storytelling. The project reflects Moody Good’s evolving artistic vision while reinforcing his reputation as one of electronic music’s most inventive producers.
The EP follows a strong run of singles that helped establish the world surrounding the project. “Grinding” introduced listeners to the heavy, mechanical energy at the centre of SPEEEDBUMP, while “Humid” expanded the sound palette through swinging percussion and guttural bass textures, already generating more than 50,000 streams across platforms. The third single, “Mouth Piece” featuring KARAN!, injected Brazilian-inspired rhythms and cross-cultural influence into the project’s evolving sound, pushing the creative direction even further.
To celebrate the release, Moody Good will headline his first solo show of the year on May 22 at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver. The performance will serve as the first full live showcase of the SPEEEDBUMP experience, bringing the EP’s immersive world to the stage ahead of festival appearances throughout the summer.
