GRiZ Unleashes Explosive Collaboration with Wooli on “Chaos Theory”

GRiZ continues his triumphant return with the release of “Chaos Theory”, his first-ever collaboration with bass music heavyweight Wooli, dropping May 30. The track arrives hot on the heels of March’s Gemini EP and adds fuel to the fire ahead of two major events on the horizon: the sold-out Seven Stars Festival this October in Virginia, and the newly announced Re:Connect arena shows in Chicago and Daly City.

Originally teased during Wooli’s recent live sets, Chaos Theory features a bespoke vocal performance by acclaimed voice actor Boris Hiestand—known for his roles in Overwatch, Assassin’s Creed, and more. Rather than sampling pre-recorded dialogue, GRiZ and Wooli commissioned Hiestand to deliver a custom monologue, underlining their shared passion for cinematic, immersive storytelling through music.

The track is a powerful blend of GRiZ’s signature funk-inspired melodies and Wooli’s earth-shaking bass design. With its emotional depth and sonic intensity, Chaos Theory marks a high-impact milestone that bridges both artists’ fanbases while pushing genre boundaries.

About GRiZ

For GRiZ, funk is more than a genre—it’s a philosophy. Born in North Detroit and now based in Denver, the sax-wielding producer has carved out a dynamic niche within electronic music. Known for his genre-blending sets and feel-good energy, GRiZ seamlessly mixes future funk, glitch-hop, and bass into euphoric live performances.

Following a brief hiatus, GRiZ returned in March 2025 with the surprise GEMiNI EP, offering fans a taste of what’s to come. That same month, he announced the inaugural Seven Stars Festival in Arrington, VA—his first live appearance in two years. The festival sold out within minutes and features a stacked lineup, including Subtronics, Hamdi, Levity, and Disco Lines, among others.

In May, GRiZ added to the excitement by revealing back-to-back Re:Connect arena shows: two-night runs at Chicago’s Wintrust Arena and Daly City’s Cow Palace. Joining him on these bass-fueled nights will be artists like Gramatik, Sippy, Boogie T, and Levity.
