June 28th, 2024 — After a series of groundbreaking releases like “about you” with rising rapper Showjoe and the heartfelt “still?”, one of Canada’s leading artists, WHIPPED CREAM, returns to Monstercat with her deeply personal EP, ‘is this real?’.

Showcasing her trailblazing approach, WHIPPED CREAM continues to push boundaries, crafting cinematic soundscapes that tell powerful stories, captivate listeners, and are primed for the big screen. Her ability to bring music to life in videos such as “The Dark” with Jasiah and Crimson Child has earned her a BOLD Award from CIMA (Canadian Independent Music Association), a premiere at the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF), and a feature at SXSW’s XR Experience Competition in Austin. Notably, “The Dark” music video set a new standard as the world’s highest-resolution volumetric VR music experience, paving the way for the future of audiovisual content.

On the live stage, WHIPPED CREAM has mesmerized audiences worldwide. She has graced the stages of Coachella for two consecutive years, headlined major festivals like Lollapalooza and EDC Las Vegas, and sold out iconic venues including Meow Wolf in Denver and The Rink Studios in Sacramento. Her viral moments with DJ Diesel (aka Shaquille O’Neal) and her impressive DJ skills have garnered millions of views, and her presence has been spotlighted on Spotify and Amazon’s billboards, as well as in major publications like Forbes, DJ Mag (cover), and Pollstar.

Collaborating with artists like BKAYE, Showjoe, Trent Madison, and Sjayy on this 7-track project, WHIPPED CREAM continues to evolve, blending electronic and hip-hop elements to create a unique and innovative sound. With ‘is this real?’, she deepens her signature soundscapes, delivering poignant messages that inspire listeners to find peace in the present, even during life’s most challenging moments. This EP represents a significant turning point for WHIPPED CREAM, as she reveals her deepest emotions and ventures into new creative territory. Embracing house and club tempos, tracks like “real 4 me” with BKAYE are set to become anthems at clubs and festivals throughout the summer.

WHIPPED CREAM reflects, “‘is this real?’ is a project I wrote during the darkest time of my life, holding on to hope for better days. We often find ourselves asking, in both good and bad times, ‘Is this really happening? Is this really my life?’ During that dark period, I had to find the blessings in my life and cling to them, trusting that everything was happening for a reason. Looking back now, I see how much life has transformed into what I had hoped for. While the lyrics and sounds often explore my love relationships, this project means so much more to me; it was created at a pivotal moment in my life. I want this project to symbolize risk-taking, resilience, and finding beauty in pain.”

WHIPPED CREAM has also announced her eagerly awaited ‘is this real?’ headline tour, which will take her to over 19 cities, with more dates to be announced soon. She will perform in major cities like Toronto, Los Angeles, and Chicago, at larger venues than ever before, and at festivals including Same Same But Different, Bass Camp, and Sziget Festival, underscoring the growing demand for her music and live performances.
