WAX MOTIF & TY DOLLA $IGN LINK UP FOR “BAD & U KNOW IT,” FIRST SINGLE FROM ‘HOUSE OF WAX II’

Globally recognised producer and artist Wax Motif returns with a new single, “Bad & U Know It,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. The track arrives March 27 via Divided Souls and serves as the first release from his upcoming album House of Wax II.

The collaboration reflects a direction Wax Motif has been building toward for years. Known for moving between house, hip-hop, and R&B without fully settling into any one lane, he leans further into that cross-genre identity here. Bringing Ty Dolla $ign into the mix adds both familiarity and scale, given the latter’s track record of chart-topping collaborations and genre-spanning influence.

“Bad & U Know It” is built on contrast. Wax keeps the production minimal and groove-focused, allowing space for Ty Dolla $ign’s melodic delivery to carry the record. The result sits comfortably between a late-night club track and a more traditional R&B record, making it adaptable across both dance floors and mainstream listening.

The two artists are not new collaborators. Their creative relationship stretches back several years, including early sessions that fed into other projects. With this release, they bring that long-standing chemistry into a more fully realised form.

Following his debut album House of Wax, which has crossed 33 million streams, Wax Motif enters this next phase with a clearer sense of direction. House of Wax II expands on his established sound but shifts focus toward stronger songwriting and deeper collaborations, aiming to move beyond club-focused releases into more complete records.

The album brings together a wider network of artists across house, hip-hop, and R&B, positioning Wax Motif not just as a dance producer, but as a collaborator operating within a broader, evolving music landscape where genre lines continue to blur.

As the first release from the project, “Bad & U Know It” sets the tone. It is less about experimentation for its own sake and more about refinement, building on what already works while pushing it into more cohesive territory.

Wax Motif on the collaboration:

“People have been asking me for a long time when Ty and I would drop something together. We’ve actually been working in that space for years. At one point we even built out a full house project, and one of those early ideas became the first version of ‘Back To Me’ on Vultures.

Going into this album, it felt like the right time to bring one of those records to life properly. ‘Bad & U Know It’ stood out. It has that signature Ty vocal energy, melodic, soulful, but still hits like a club record. Working with him is always special. He’s one of my favourite artists, but he’s also family. This one was overdue.”
