Dutch DJ and producer Mike Williams has teamed up with Norwegian singer-songwriter Eirik Næss for their new collaborative single, “Learn to Fly” — a vibrant, genre-blending track that mixes dancefloor energy with acoustic warmth and a tropical breeze. Released via Be Yourself Music, the track is a feel-good anthem built for summer.
Written and recorded during an impromptu trip to Bali, “Learn to Fly” was born out of laid-back jam sessions by the pool, fueled by guitars, a simple setup, and the kind of spontaneous creativity that only happens when you’re truly in the moment.
“We wrote the track in Bali. By the pool at a villa, with drinks, a guitar, and a simple recording setup. We just wrote exactly what we were feeling in that moment, and those are often the most fun songs.” – Mike Williams
The result is a melodic and uplifting blend of country storytelling, EDM production, and tropical house vibes. With its infectious chorus, bright instrumentation, and lyrics about freedom and fearlessness, “Learn to Fly” captures the spirit of chasing life’s highs without hesitation.
“The song came together supernaturally during a trip to Mike‘s villa in Bali. The second we got there, we started vibing on the idea of doing something with a bit of a country flare – but with a tropical twist. Being surrounded by palm trees, warm nights, and that laid-back island energy, it added this sun-soaked, feel-good vibe to everything. We tracked the whole thing by the pool, beers in hand, just soaking in the moment. That whole “live life now, no excuses” energy really shaped the lyrics. It’s about letting go of fear, chasing highs, and going all in—no holding back. Just felt right.” – Eirik Næss
