Violinist and Producer Kozlow Drops New Single “Cowboy Killers” on AFP Label

Violinist, producer, and ANTHR FCKNG PARTY (AFP) founder Kozlow returns with his second single, “Cowboy Killers,” following the underground buzz of his debut “Untitled.” Known for merging indie-house rhythms with live instrumentation and an offbeat sense of storytelling, Kozlow delivers a playful, cinematic twist on house music in this latest release.

Born from a post-Stagecoach Festival spark and finished in a Venice, CA backyard, “Cowboy Killers” captures Kozlow’s signature blend of spontaneity and texture. Twangy guitars meet funky basslines, four-on-the-floor percussion, and cheeky vocal snippets — all punctuated by the unexpected cameo of a crow that quite literally landed on the session.

Cowboy Killers came together after I got back from Stagecoach Music Festival a few years ago. I had the greatest time at the festival and left wondering how I could fuse country / western themes with modern indie dance production. I was working on my laptop in my buddy’s backyard in Venice, CA, and this crow, who appears to live in my buddy’s backyard, was being pretty vocal with his thoughts on the record, and suddenly these three elements made perfect sense to me – the bird, the guitar, the groove. And of course, a silly vocal to bring the whole thing home.” – Kozlow

As with all AFP releases, the visuals are integral to the experience. NYC film photographer Abi Polinsky, who serves as the label’s creative director, designed the artwork and accompanying poster campaign — reinforcing AFP’s commitment to fusing music, imagery, and culture.
