Fresh off the momentum of his acclaimed remix of James Hype’s “Waterfalls,” Berlin-based DJ and producer Ely Oaks returns with a powerful new release: a reimagined version of Elle King’s global hit “Ex’s & Oh’s.” Originally released in 2014, the blues-rock anthem earned Grammy nominations for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song, becoming instantly recognizable for its gritty guitars, swaggering attitude, and King’s unmistakable vocals.
Ely transforms the classic into a peak-time dance weapon, pairing the track’s playful, disco-leaning vocal character with razor-sharp synths, thunderous basslines, and a propulsive hardstyle pulse built for modern festival stages. The result is a high-adrenaline update that bridges nostalgia with contemporary club intensity.
“Absolutely honored, after 11 years since the original release, to be able to launch a 2025 version of this legendary song together with Elle King,” Ely shares. “I’ve been playing this version in my sets for almost the whole summer, and it’s been a highlight since. Can’t wait to have this finally out.“
ABOUT ELY OAKS
Born in Kitzbühel, Austria and now based in Berlin, Ely Oaks has rapidly become one of dance music’s most in-demand new names. Known for blending accessible, melodic dance sensibilities with the high energy of the underground, he has built a global following that now includes 12 million monthly Spotify listeners and nearly 1 million combined followers across TikTok and Instagram. In 2024, TikTok named him Germany’s #1 most-followed DJ, underscoring his fast-growing cultural reach.
Ely broke through with his viral hit “Running Around” — now over 100 million streams and featured in Spotify’s Songs of Summer 2025 — followed by chart success with “Borderline” alongside LAVINIA, which climbed to #35 on the UK Singles Chart and #17 in Germany. His discography includes collaborations with Alok (“Tsunami”), Timmy Trumpet (“Sound Of Da Police”), and remixes for major artists including Marshmello, Nate Dogg, and James Hype.
His identity as an artist is shaped by a wide-ranging musical past — from indie favorites Foals, to a metalcore obsession with Bring Me The Horizon, to early dubstep experiments inspired by Skrillex. After performing as part of the touring duo ZOOTAH, Ely launched his solo project in 2021. A viral remix of Florence + The Machine’s “Spectrum (Say My Name)” marked his breakout moment, laying the foundation for his rise as a headline artist.
On stage, Ely has delivered explosive sets at Tomorrowland, Ultra Australia, and Ushuaïa Ibiza, with a debut at EDC Orlando ahead. His ability to dominate both streaming platforms and festival arenas positions him as one of the rare dual-threat producers redefining today’s global dance sound. From TikTok virality to major label signings and world tour dates, Ely Oaks represents the exciting next wave of international electronic music talent.
