Ely Oaks Drops Explosive Remix of James Hype’s “Waterfalls” Ahead of Global Tour

Austrian-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer Ely Oaks is kicking off October with a powerful new release. Following the runaway success of his breakout hit “Running Around” (now surpassing 100 million Spotify streams), Ely returns with a high-octane official remix of James Hype’s “Waterfalls” ft. Sam Harper & Bobby Harvey — out October 3.

Transforming the original’s uplifting vocal-driven sound into a festival-ready banger, Ely infuses the track with his signature blend of progressive energy and near-hardstyle punch. “I already heard this record a lot on my TikTok, so I was 110% motivated when the request came in to make my own version of it. Absolutely in love with this vocal and a big honor to have an official remix out for the legend James Hype,” says Ely.

With this release, Ely solidifies his reputation as one of dance music’s most versatile new forces, bridging viral digital appeal with heavyweight club production.

About Ely Oaks

Born in the alpine town of Kitzbühel, Austria, and now based in Berlin, Ely Oaks is redefining what it means to be a modern DJ-producer. Known for blending commercial dance accessibility with underground intensity, he commands a massive global following — over 12 million monthly Spotify listeners and nearly one million social media fans. In 2024, TikTok named him Germany’s #1 most-followed DJ, underscoring his powerful digital connection with fans.

Ely’s career skyrocketed after his viral single “Running Around”, featured in Spotify’s Songs of Summer 2025 campaign. His collaboration “Borderline” with LAVINIA cracked the UK Singles Chart (#35) and the German Singles Chart (#17), cementing his crossover appeal. Other career highlights include collaborations with Alok (“Tsunami”), Timmy Trumpet (“Sound Of Da Police”), and official remixes for Marshmello, Nate Dogg, and now James Hype.

Ely’s sonic roots are as diverse as his rise — from indie bands like Foals to metalcore influences such as Bring Me The Horizon, before diving into EDM after hearing a Skrillex remix. After experimenting with dubstep and performing as part of the duo ZOOTAH, he launched his solo career in 2021, going viral with a remix of Florence + The Machine’s “Spectrum (Say My Name)”.

Now, Ely Oaks stands at the intersection of streaming success and festival dominance — having performed at Tomorrowland, Ultra Australia, and Ushuaïa Ibiza, with his debut at EDC Orlando coming up. His ability to connect both online and on stage positions him as one of dance music’s next global powerhouses.
