After months of anticipation, bass music legends Doctor P and Flux Pavilion have finally unveiled their highly anticipated debut collaborative album, Doctor P & Flux Pavilion, out now on Circus Records. This monumental release marks a full-circle moment, representing over two decades of friendship and musical collaboration between the two. As co-founders of Circus Records, this project reflects their enduring bond and legacy in bass music.
The 15-track album takes listeners on an unpredictable journey, seamlessly blending genre-defying sounds and showcasing the duo’s distinct musical language. From the infectious energy of “Feel Good” to the 90s-disco-influenced groove of “I Luv It” and the chaotic fun of “Vegemite,” the album serves as both a nostalgic nod to their roots and a bold exploration into new musical territories. This project is a vibrant expression of their shared musical vision, filled with cinematic moments, heavy drops, and playful experimentation.
To celebrate the release, the duo will take their unmatched energy to the stage at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, performing an exclusive back-to-back set on March 30.
“We’ve been working together for over 20 years, and in that time, we’ve developed our own unique way of communicating in the studio — almost like a private language,” say Doctor P and Flux Pavilion. “In 2010, we found our voice in dubstep, and it resonated with fans worldwide. But the characters of Doctor P and Flux Pavilion were born long before that. For this album, we wanted to capture both where we are now and who we’ve always been. It’s a mix of serious artistry and two friends just having fun. Our philosophy has always been simple: ‘Why not both?’ Life’s simplest truths often get lost in the complexities. This album is a celebration of those truths — life is meant to be fun.”
Doctor P
Shaun Brockhurst, known as Doctor P, began his musical journey as a teenager, jamming with friends on drums and guitar. After co-founding Circus Records with childhood friend Flux Pavilion in 2009, Doctor P quickly became a dominant force in the bass music scene. His track “Sweet Shop,” which he posted on MySpace, transformed the landscape of bass music, earning its place as a festival staple. Doctor P’s extensive discography includes collaborations with Dillon Francis, Far East Movement, Method Man, and more, further solidifying his legacy as one of the genre’s pioneers.
Flux Pavilion
As a co-founder of Circus Records and a pioneering figure in dubstep, Flux Pavilion has written some of electronic music’s most iconic tracks, performing on stages from Glastonbury to Coachella. Influenced by artists like David Bowie and The Prodigy, Flux Pavilion’s sound evolved after a life-changing visit to London’s Fabric nightclub, where he was inspired to dive deeper into electronic music. A multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer, Flux Pavilion continues to shape the future of bass music with genre-defying collaborations and electrifying live performances.
This album not only celebrates the duo’s rich history but also marks an exciting new chapter in their musical journey. With the combined power of Doctor P and Flux Pavilion, this release is sure to resonate with longtime fans and newcomers alike.
